Japanese is the language spoken in Japan and used by most Japanese people. Its distinctive features include three writing systems: hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Hiragana mainly represents grammar and particles, katakana represents foreign words and proper nouns, and kanji represents parts of the vocabulary. Japanese has various levels of respect, such as honorific language and polite language, and dialects exist in different regions.
